If you're anything like me - you have an obsession with art prints. Everywhere I go, if they sell art prints I need to browse through them, at this point I am trying to wrack my brain where on earth I can display them.
That's always the trick. It is amazing to be able to buy a print that fits your space or personality perfectly but how can we display them? In this blog post I will be discussing the variations ways you can display your new found wall art.
ON A PICTURE LEDGE
Display your art prints on a picture ledge is one of my personal favourites. You can do this multiple ways - you can purchase on long ledge and hang above your couch, bed, etc or you can purchase a few smaller ledges and stagger them up the wall. The ledges are a perfect way to layer prints and add some textural elements as well.
IN A PHOTO WALL
Photo walls are one of the more popular options and is also a great way to display multiple complimentary pieces of art to fill a large space. I especially enjoy when these have a mix of photography (family photos work amazingly) with some more traditional illustrated or quote prints.
ON A SOFA TABLE OR SIDE BOARD
This method follows similar rules to being displayed on a photo ledge or shelf - however it adds some height to a side board or table that may be against a wall. I often pair this with a vase on the corner - not only does it add dimension but it can also add stability. Having prints off the wall also make them easy to change - which means you can potentially change out the print depending on the season.
UNCONVENTIONAL WAYS TO HANG
These methods can work perfectly for dorm rooms (command strips work great for this) or offices/studios. You can either display an art print using simple tacks on a cork board - to prevent holes pinch the print just under the found plastic part of the tack - or you can use some nicer pant hangers and pinch the art print inside then hang on either a nail or a command strip. This way also is great for changing out prints and you can use a similar methodology as the photo wall by layering different sizes in different positions on the wall.
